Barrolle Suffers another Defeat

first_imgThe Kanyan Pepper boys of Mighty Barrolle on Saturday suffered another defeat in the Cellcom National League when they fell to LPRC Oilers 1-0 at the Antoinette Tubman Stadium.Barrolle started the match on slow motion by making less attempts on goal with just a shot on target.Frustration was seen on the faces of Barrolle fans, including national team head coach James Debbah.LPRC dominated the first half, getting close to the goal with several attempts but could not find the back of the net.Barrolle returned in the second half with more purposeful attacks but striker Julius Wotoe missed two clear chances to put his side ahead of the game.Oilers later stole the show after striker Manie Yancy scored a 74th minute volley to secure the three points.Midfielder George Solo of Oilers was sent off in the 84th minute, reducing his side’s numerical strength to 10 men.Oilers now have three points out of two matches, while Barrolle are yet to collect a point from their first two matches. The team later tallied the goals to two in the 45th minute through Bility Abdullah, due to a misplaced pass from Jubilee’s defenders.Jubilee later got a penalty opportunity to have reduced the deficit during the first half, after defender Kpoto of BYC committed a foul in the 18 yards box, but the opportunity was wasted by Alvin Polo who kicked the ball above the bar.Jubilee’s hope of getting a consolation goal from the break was buried when Bility Abdullah registered his name on the score sheet for the second time with an assist from Van-Dave Harmon.BYC closed things up by getting her fourth goal of the match when Dukuly Randy found the back of the net from Claudius Morris’s left volley.The Go Blue boys got their first win of the season by narrowly defeating LPRC Oilers 1-0 from Sylvanus Morris.
